Date Night? #blogcember day 16

Before Ali and I became parents and somewhat responsible adults, our favourite thing to do together was to go out for midnight dessert dates.

Since we can no longer do that… in peace… we have make shift dessert dates at home, after Aria goes to sleep…ssssshhhh NOBODY tell her!

Today I’m going to share with you our favourite crepe recipe (it’s our favourite because it’s SO easy…oh and it tastes good too!) We use the same recipe every time, and the crepes turn out amazing!

Below I have included the quantity of ingredients and steps that I follow to make these crepes, along with a link to the original recipe. (I’m not going to pretend I created this recipe – that is definitely NOT my forte)

I do however cut the recipe in half (which makes three crepes) and add a little bit of sugar (I like my crepes a bit sweet). If you’re craving something sweet, try these out!

Basic Crepe Recipe – Original Recipe by Jennyc819 on www.allrecipes.com

Ingredients:

½ cup all purpose flour

¼ cup milk

¼ cup water

1 egg

pinch of salt

1 table spoon butter

pinch and a bit of sugar (how do you like that measurement?!)

Now the original recipe is a little more complicated in this area, so if you’re a stickler for precision then I suggest you click here.

If you’re in a hurry to have your crepe, like Ali and I always are, then keep reading.

1. In a mixing bowl, mix the flour, water, egg, salt, melted butter and sugar together.
2. Heat a fry pan on medium with butter or oil, pour a scoop of batter and tilt the pan in circular motion to spread the batter all around.
3. Cook the crepe until the bottom is lightly golden brown, and the top looks dry, flip and cook for another 30 seconds and remove from heat.
4. Fill crepe with fruits, chocolate chips, something else, or nothing else
5. Gobble it up…YUM
